Job summary

Talent Corner HR Services is seeking a Costing / Estimation Engineer for Bengaluru on a full-time basis. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, tender documents, and commercial proposals for MEP, lab, cleanroom, or EPC projects.

You will coordinate with Design, Sales, Procurement, and Project teams, review tender packages, and help deliver competitive bids while maintaining quality and compliance. Immediate to 30 days notice preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost estimation for MEP, lab, EPC projects.
• Proficient in preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents.
• Exposure to SEFA, ISO, NABL laboratory standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to understand the project scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and laboratory fit-out works, including fume hoods, laboratory workbenches, cleanroom systems, and specialized laboratory equipment.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and pricing sheets covering materials, labour, subcontractors, equipment, and project overheads.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Perform cost analysis and recommend value engineering solutions to optimise project costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with Design, Sales, Procurement, and Project teams for technical and commercial alignment during the tendering process.
• Support Sales and Project teams during tender clarifications, pre-bid meetings, and client discussions.
• Maintain and update a database of material, labour, and subcontractor rates for future cost benchmarking.
• Prepare cost comparison statements and support management in commercial decision-making.
• Participate in post-tender reviews and provide cost-related support during project execution when required.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of MEP services, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, laboratory furniture, fume hoods, exhaust systems, and cleanroom solutions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimation software/tools.
• Good knowledge of tendering procedures, project documentation, BOQ preparation, and cost analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in EPCM or turnkey laboratory construction projects.
• Exposure to SEFA, ISO, NABL, or similar laboratory standards will be an added advantage.
