Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI Fitter required.
• 2–5 years experience in Pharma or FMCG high-speed packaging machines preferred.
• Hands-on maintenance of packaging machinery such as fillers, cappers, wrappers and labelers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of high-speed packaging machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
• Support in machine installation, alignment, and calibration.
• Monitor machine performance and carry out root cause analysis for recurring faults.
• Coordinate with production teams for smooth line operation and maximum OEE.
• Maintain logs for breakdowns, spare parts, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices, SOPs, and 5S standards.

Role Overview

Astral Adhesives is looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of high-speed packaging machinery used in Pharma / FMCG environments. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring continuous machine uptime, executing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical faults.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of high-speed packaging machinery (fillers, cappers, wrappers, labelers, high-RPM rotating systems).
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and reduce machine downtime.
• Support in machine installation, alignment, and calibration.
• Monitor machine performance and carry out root cause analysis for recurring faults.
• Coordinate with production teams for smooth line operation and maximum OEE.
• Maintain logs for breakdowns, spare parts, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices, SOPs, and 5S standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong mechanical knowledge of high-speed packaging machinery (Pharma / FMCG preferred).
• Ability to work with gears, bearings, drives, rotating equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Coordination skills and ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment.
