Job summary

SAMSUNG E&A is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 7-22 years of experience in rotating and package equipment. The role requires familiarity with API and ANSI standards, independent work in automated environments, and willingness to travel domestically or internationally for deputation.

Key responsibilities include detailed engineering reviews, MDS/RFQ workups, and participation in design reviews (Hazop, SIL, 3D model).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7-22 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience from selection to detailed engineering review.
• Familiar with API, ANSI codes and standards.
• Ability to work independently in automated environments and adapt to new automation tech.

Responsibilities

• Study ITB documents in detail and identify project salient points.
• Familiar with MDS preparation, RFQ preparation, Technical Bid Evaluation, Equipment selection and Vendor Print Review.
• Hands-on FEED, EPC & Proposal jobs experience.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel and manage daily allocations.
• Support machinery troubleshooting and root cause analysis during construction and commissioning.
• Attend inspections and testing activities at vendor shops.

Job description

• Experience in Rotating & Package equipment's like Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Agitators, Chemical Injection Package, Air dryer Package, Refrigeration Package, Chiller Package, Loading Arm etc.
• Experience from selection to detailed engineering review.
• Familiarity with codes and standards related to discipline such as API, ANSI, Major Clients / PMC & Licensor Specifications and Standards. Familiar with good engineering practices related to discipline work.
• Should have good communication skills both verbal & written.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally for long deputation as per job requirements.
• Co-ordination skill with vendor, client, inter-department and Korean Expats.
• Should be able to work independently in highly automated atmosphere and keen to adapt to new automation technology. Should be aware of Standard Industry Software and other available tools for enhancing work process within discipline.
• Support the needs and interests of other project groups in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensures designs are safe, of the highest quality and the best value for the customer.
• Participate proactively in different design reviews during project cycle like Constructability reviews, 3D Model Reviews, Hazop & SIL Reviews and implements of action points in design.
• Prepares technical reports related to specific design issues and Project reports.
• Attends different meetings like Kick off meeting with Client and Project Management, Conducts Kick off meeting with vendors and regular meeting with AE’s.
• Familiar with methods of procurement, including bid and evaluation process
• Technical guidance to less experienced personnel and demonstrates initiative and basic leadership skills to give direction within a small work group. Manage own daily work allocation as well as those assigned to support sub-group or area-group.
• Maintains the KPI of the projects efficiently per set target.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Familiar and conversant in MDS preparation, RFQ preparation, Technical Bid Evaluation, Equipment selection and Vendor Print Review.
• Hands on experience in FEED, EPC & Proposal Jobs.
• Technical issues related to discipline and coordination with third parties for its resolution (Customer, Supplier's, Site, Inter Disciplines, Korea Expats).
• Support and act proactively during machinery troubleshooting efforts and root cause failure analysis during construction and commissioning.
• Support and attend inspection and testing activities at vendor shops.

Other Desirable Requirements

Exposure to Site along with different troubleshooting during construction and commissioning.
