Job summary

BHEL GE Gas Turbine Services (BGGTS) is seeking a Field Services engineer to provide engineering oversight during outages and respond to technical requests. The role requires deep knowledge of heavy duty gas turbines and close liaison between field teams and design engineers.

The candidate should be able to lead root-cause analyses, prepare leadership-level technical presentations, and travel to various sites as required to ensure reliability and performance of gas turbine fleets.

Qualifications

• BE/B Tech Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience in maintenance of heavy duty gas turbines.
• GEV design gas turbines experience is a plus.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and provide engineering technical oversight to the Field Services teams during planned outages to meet reliability and availability goals
• Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, procedures.
• Escalate issues as required, acting as the liaison between field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and to help engineering identify, drive corrective actions
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers to make customer technical issues/requirements understood and addressed in a timely manner.
• Lead and manage root cause analysis/investigation activities for product technical issues.
• Prepare technical presentations for leadership and Customers ensuring timely communication of significant issues or developments.
• Support customer technical review meetings and present technical recommendations
• Support unplanned/forced outages to meet reliability/availability goals
• Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, leet configuration.
• Support Sales/Commercial teams in identifying and driving plant/unit upgrades/reliability opportunities in Gas Turbine Fleet

Experience Requirements:

• BE/B Tech Mechanical Engineering is needed
• Experience in maintenance of heavy duty gas turbines. Experience in GEV design gas turbines in added advantage
