Job summary

FieldCore in India seeks an Outage Manager to lead end-to-end outages for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generators. You will own outages, drive safety and quality, and coordinate planning, execution and customer communication across India and Sri Lanka.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in engineering, 8+ years in Gas/Steam Turbine or Generator maintenance, and at least 3 years in outage planning/execution. English proficiency is mandatory, with strong Excel and Primavera skills.

Job Summary

The Outage Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of complex planned and emergent outages for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generators. Accountable as the primary event owner, you will drive execution excellence, ensure rigorous adherence to safety and quality standards, and support the development of our field fulfilment strategy. You will serve as the focal point for outage planning, execution, and the implementation of best practices across India, Sri Lanka, and other assigned locations.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Outage Management:Lead the full lifecycle of outage events (Planned, Emergent, and Upgrades), including schedule development, resource planning (TFA/Craft labor), tooling logistics, job cost estimate, customer management - pre/post outage meetings, mobilization planning, execution and event close out.
• Onsite Execution:Accountable as the Site Lead for large, complex outages. Ensure all work is performed in alignment with "Fulfilment-5" goals, emphasizing safety, quality, and technical integrity.
• Financial & Risk Stewardship:Manage onsite costs, monitor productivity while managing execution risk with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) as our North Star.

• Technical Communication:Act as the primary technical interface between the customer and internal stakeholders (e.g., Portfolio Managers) during outage execution

• Continuous Improvement:Proactively identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and simplify workflows. Maintain accurate tracking and forecasting data in web-based systems to optimize labor allocation, tooling logistics, and vendor management.
• Emergency Response:Provide prompt support for forced outages, including on-site investigation and rapid escalation to restore unit operations.
• Documentation:Ensure all project documentation—including Field Procedures, Quality reports, and EHS records is reviewed, stored, and delivered to the customer in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of applicable experience in Gas/Steam Turbine or Generator maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years of specialized experience in planning and executing turbine/generator outages.
• Communication: English proficiency is mandatory.
• Technical Preference:Prior experience as a Gas Turbine Mechanical Field Engineer is highly preferred.

Desired Characteristics

• Technical Proficiency:Strong understanding of turbine/generator maintenance; high level of PC/web application literacy, with advanced Excel skills.
• Project Management:Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; familiarity with Primavera scheduling software.
• Influence & Leadership:Ability to lead diverse teams under high-pressure, time-constrained environments. Strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively with external customers and all levels of the organization.
• Agility:A proactive mindset with the willingness to travel and work flexible hours (holidays/ weekends) as required by field service demands.
