Job summary

AECOM in Mumbai is seeking a Mechanical Erection Engineer Wind PMC to oversee turbine assembly readiness, erection progress, and interface coordination between OEMs, contractors, and commissioning teams at wind projects.

You will monitor tower, nacelle, hub, and blade installation, verify OEM procedures, manage documentation, and support the handover to commissioning with rigorous progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years in WTG erection, turbine installation, or industrial erection projects.
• OEM WTG Erection Certification preferred.
• Work-at-height, rigging and lifting training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tower, nacelle, hub, and blade installation activities.
• Verify adherence to approved OEM procedures and erection methodologies.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, HSE, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams.
• Maintain erection progress reports and punch-list tracking.

Job Description

The Mechanical Erection Engineer Wind PMC will support site-level monitoring and governance of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) mechanical erection activities. The role is responsible for overseeing turbine assembly readiness, erection progress, mechanical completion status, and interface coordination between OEMs, contractors, and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Erection Monitoring

• Monitor tower, nacelle, hub, and blade installation activities.
• Verify adherence to approved OEM procedures and erection methodologies.
• Review assembly sequencing and readiness conditions.

Quality & Completion Verification

• Monitor torqueing, tensioning, bolting, alignment, and preservation records.
• Witness erection inspections and verify supporting documentation.
• Track punch-list items and mechanical completion progress.

Interface Management

• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, HSE, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams.
• Support transition from erection activities to commissioning milestones.
• Escalate mechanical issues affecting project delivery.

Reporting & Governance

• Maintain WTG-wise erection progress reports.
• Record observations relating to equipment damage and quality concerns.
