Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Expert for a remote contract role. You will construct enterprise-grade engineering scenarios, perform CAD modeling and multi-physics analyses, and drive design reviews for Fortune 500 accounts.

You will apply FEA/CFD, GD&T, and Six Sigma principles to deliver robust specifications and narratives. Applicants should have 5+ years in mechanical engineering leadership within large industrial contexts, owning significant product designs or manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a mechanical engineer or engineering lead at a Fortune 500 company.
• Direct ownership of Fortune 500-scale product designs or manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Construct enterprise mechanical engineering scenarios for complex product design cycles, multi-stakeholder design reviews, and manufacturing or regulatory certification processes at Fortune 500 accounts.
• Build tasks across Fortune 500 product design and CAD modeling, thermal/fluid systems analysis, structural and stress analysis, manufacturing process engineering, and reliability/failure analysis.
• Develop engineering scenarios using SolidWorks, ANSYS, CATIA, MATLAB/Simulink, and enterprise PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill) in Fortune 500 stacks.
• Apply enterprise mechanical engineering methodologies (FEA/CFD simulation, DFM/DFA principles, Six Sigma/DFSS, GD&T standards) to produce reference design specifications, engineering analyses, and executive-level technical narratives.
• Author rubrics that distinguish authentic enterprise mechanical engineering judgment from generic textbook or coursework-level recall.

Compensation: $70–$80/hour

• Direct ownership of Fortune 500 -scale product designs, manufacturing processes, or engineering certification programs.

Preferred

• Prior rubric, engineering-training curriculum, or design documentation authorship.
