Job summary

Marutee Design Engineering in Bangalore, India seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on MV switchgear experience to join the engineering execution team. You will cleanse legacy CAD data, restructure 3D models for modular configurators, and manage EBOMs for Windchill migration.

The role requires 3–6 years of relevant experience, proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, and familiarity with PLM data preparation and sheet-metal processes. This is an on-site position in Bangalore.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
• 3–6 years of mechanical engineering experience focused on MV/HV switchgear or related power equipment.
• Experience cleansing CAD data, restructuring EBOMs, and managing PLM data.
• Experience migrating data to Windchill PLM and BOM management.
• Strong knowledge of sheet-metal operations, machining, tolerances, and callouts.

Responsibilities

• Cleanse and restructure 3D CAD models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Reorganize assemblies into modular, configurator-ready structures and standardize EBOM data.
• Detail sheet-metal enclosures and machined components with GD&T and tolerances.
• Audit drawings and prepare data for Windchill PLM migration; fix links and metadata.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with hands‑on experience in MV Switchgear design, CAD restructuring, and PLM data preparation to join our engineering execution team in Bangalore. In this role, you will clean up legacy CAD data, restructure 3D models and assemblies into configurator‑ready modular frameworks using Autodesk Inventor, manage EBOMs, and prepare engineering datasets for seamless migration into PTC Windchill.

Key Responsibilities

1. CAD Cleansing Product Architecture

• Cleanse, audit, and restructure complex 3D CAD models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Reorganize non‑standard assemblies into modular, configurator-friendly product structures.
• Validate DXF cut profiles and flat patterns against 3D sheet‑metal models to guarantee fabrication accuracy.

2. Engineering BOM Data Standardization

• Construct, clean, and re‑architect Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM) to align with manufacturing and PLM structures.
• Standardize material specifications, material grades, and hardware callouts across drawings and CAD metadata.
• Implement and manage standard fastener and hardware libraries across switchgear sub‑assemblies.

3. Sheet Metal Machined Component Design

• Detail, model, and create manufacturing drawings for MV switchgear sheet‑metal enclosures, frame structures, and machined components.
• Apply proper Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT), fabrication tolerances, and surface treatment callouts.
• Ensure physical designs account for electrical clearances, creepage/clearance distances, and structural integrity.

4. PLM Data Migration Readiness

• Audit and clean engineering drawings, model attributes, and assembly dependencies for Windchill PLM migration.
• Identify and fix broken links, missing metadata, duplicate part numbers, and non‑standard drawing formats.
• Collaborate directly with internal engineering leads and customer stakeholders at the Bangalore site.

Key Qualifications Skills

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
• Domain Experience: 3 to 6 years of mechanical engineering experience focused on Medium Voltage (MV) or High Voltage (HV) Switchgear, panel enclosures, busbar routing, or similar electrical power distribution equipment.
• CAD Tools: Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (Sheet Metal, Large Assemblies, Frame Generator, Drawing Creation).
• PLM/PDM Experience: Direct experience with PTC Windchill or similar PLM environments (handling lifecycle states, CAD check-in/check-out, attribute mapping, and BOM management).
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong grasp of sheet‑metal operations (punching, bending, laser cutting), machining processes, fastener selection, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.

Preferred / Desirable Skills

• Prior experience in large‑scale CAD migration, legacy data conversion, or PLM transition projects.
• Familiarity with rule‑based design automation, iLogic in Autodesk Inventor, or product configurators.
• Strong communication skills and experience representing an engineering services partner at a client location
