Position Overview

We are seeking a senior Subject Matter Expert / Engineering Manager with extensive domain experience to lead a team of 10 engineers dedicated to large-scale CAD data cleansing, EBOM restructuring, and PLM migration preparation for Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear product lines. The candidate must combine deep technical mastery of MV/HV electrical equipment, sheet-metal manufacturing, and modular design with hands-on expertise in Autodesk Inventor and PTC Windchill PLM architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Delivery: Lead, mentor, and manage a dedicated 10-person engineering team working on-site in Bangalore. Set technical standards, drive project timelines, and ensure delivery quality across large volume datasets.
• Modular Product Architecture: Architect and restructure complex MV switchgear 3D CAD models and assembly trees into modular, configurator-ready product structures.
• CAD Cleansing & Standardization: Direct deep CAD optimization in Autodesk Inventor, ensuring strict adherence to modeling rules, sheet-metal/machined-part standards, and precise dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• EBOM & Material Standardization: Oversee the reconstruction and validation of Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs), standardizing global material specifications and fastener/hardware libraries.
• Manufacturing & Profile Validation: Enforce 100% alignment between 3D CAD geometries and 2D manufacturing outputs, overseeing DXF profile validation against CAD models.
• PLM Migration Strategy: Drive data readiness methodologies to transform, cleanse, and structure legacy engineering data for smooth ingestion into PTC Windchill PLM.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Area Requirements

Domain Experience 15+ years of core design and engineering experience in Medium Voltage (MV) / High Voltage (HV) switchgear, controlgear, or heavy electrical equipment.

Leadership Proven track record managing teams of 10+ engineers ; strong delivery management, client communication, and workflow tracking capability.

CAD Expertise Advanced mastery of Autodesk Inventor (sheet-metal design, automated drawing generation, modular assembly structure, and frame generator).

PLM Systems Deep expertise in PTC Windchill (data structures, part-to-CAD relationships, attribute mapping, lifecycle states, and migration prep).

Manufacturing Knowledge Expert understanding of sheet-metal fabrication, machining, tolerance stack-up analysis, material grade equivalencies (ISO/AISI/EN/IS), and profile generation.
