Job summary

Eaton in Maharashtra, India, seeks an experienced design professional to advance medium voltage control and assemblies in new product development. You will lead NPI projects, interact with global MVCA teams, and drive prototypes, testing plans, and certifications (UL).

You will implement DFX practices in the design phase and mentor teammates while ensuring adherence to IEC/UL/IEEE standards, with strong emphasis on mechanical-electrical integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical).
• 7–10 years of MV switchgear design and development experience.
• Proficient in CAD software: AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, Pro-E, SolidWorks or Ideas.

Responsibilities

• Work on MVCA to design medium voltage control and assemblies for new product development.
• Lead NPI projects and coordinate with global MVCA team to ensure timely, qualité deliverables for milestones and gates.
• Coach and develop team members for technical mentoring and organizational capability.
• Demonstrate solid mechanical/electrical/electronic foundations and work with MV switchgear standards IEC/UL/IEEE.
• Contribute ideas for NTI/NPI, pitch for funding, manage from water line to launch.
• Write articles for trade/technical publications and prepare patent disclosures.
• Support production orders issues from MOL and maintain deliverables timelines.
• Apply root-cause analysis to product failures and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with SCM to develop prototypes and perform development tests for NPI.
• Utilize EIIC ecosystem (Test Lab, Digital Org, CDP&T) for cost-reduction portfolio building.

Job description

What You’ll Do

The primary responsibility of this role is to work on MVCA to Provide experienced design professional solutions to medium voltage control and assemblies as new product development. Design innovative solutions and execute NPI projects; Interact with global MVCA team, Engineering Manager and product line engineers and technicians to execute new product development and provide support to new product production orders; support on prototype development and preparing type test plan and product certification with UL. Implement best Dfx practices within product design phase.

1. Demonstrated capability in design and development of Medium Voltage Control and Assemblies productline.

• Must be proficient in CAD software programs such as AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, Pro-E, Solid works, or Ideas. Should be able to create new detail and assembly drawings (mechanical, electrical, or electronic) for new designs of the most complex nature.
• 4. Drive the NPI Projects and ensure timely & quality deliverables for milestones, Gates etc.
• Coach and develop team members forTechnical Mentoring, building Organizational capability and achieve the results.
• Demonstrate a solid foundation in mechanical, electrical or electronic principles
• Should understand product MV Switchgear & Assemblies design standards IEC / UL / IEEE
• Come up with NTI/NPI ideas, pitch them in waterlining, get the funded projects & drive them to launch""
• Be capable of writing articles for trade and technical publications, presenting papers and preparing patent disclosures.
• Able to support production order issues from MOL support and maintain timeline for the deliverables.
• Possess sound problem solving skills and the ability to analyze product failure issues sufficiently to drive them to root cause
• Effectively drive team operations with product line support, quality and NPI activities
• Must be collaborate with SCM to develop prototype and perform development test for NPI
• Effectively utilize EIIC Eco-system like Test Lab, Digital Org, CDP&T capabilities for building & maturing the cost out portfolio.

14 .Fluent in written and verbal communication in a global environment

• Knowledge of Lean six sigma. DFSS/DMAIC certification desirable

Qualifications

Master’s/Bachelor's degree in engineering preferably Mechanical

7-10 Years in MV Switchgear Design and Development
