Job summary

Onward Technologies in Pune, India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 4–10 years of experience to lead ECO/ECR/ECN, sustaining, product and manufacturing engineering activities. Qualifications

• 4-10 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.

• Proficiency in CAD tools and PLM systems.
• Knowledge of GD&T and BOM management.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and equipment such as vessels, tanks, valves, static equipment, heat exchangers, pumps, blowers, skids, and fabricated assemblies.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools.
• Execute and manage ECO/ECR/ECN processes.
• Perform design modifications, product upgrades, and value engineering activities.
• Review specifications, customer requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
• Support sustaining engineering initiatives by resolving design-related issues.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams for product realization.
• Manage engineering documentation, revision control, and product data within PLM systems.
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, standardization, and product enhancement initiatives.

The candidate should have strong design experience in vessels, tanks, valves, static equipment, heat exchangers, pumps, blowers, skids, and fabricated mechanical packages, along with proficiency in CAD tools and PLM systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and equipment such as vessels, tanks, valves, static equipment, heat exchangers, pumps, blowers, skids, and fabricated assemblies.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools.
• Execute and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).

Required Skills

• 410 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Strong experience in ECO/ECR/ECN, Sustaining Engineering, Product Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in designing process equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves, static equipment, heat exchangers, pumps, blowers, skids, or fabricated mechanical packages.
• Proficiency in any CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, NX, or AutoCAD.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Agile PLM, Arena, etc.
• Knowledge of GD&T, BOM management, engineering documentation, and revision control.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
