Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Oil & Gas equipment design experience and knowledge of hazardous area requirements, including ATEX, NEC, IECEx and related standards. You will design mechanical systems and packages for hazardous environments while ensuring compliance with industry safety regulations.

The role involves creating 3D models in Creo, preparing manufacturing drawings, reviewing customer specs, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical design for Oil & Gas equipment.
  • Knowledge of ATEX, NEC, IECEx and related standards.
  • Proficiency with Creo and GD&T.
  • Experience with BOM and design documentation.
  • Familiarity with Hazardous Area Classification.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, equipment packages, and assemblies for Oil & Gas applications.
  • Create 3D models, layouts, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation using CAD tools such as Creo.
  • Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with hazardous area requirements.
  • Support equipment design for onshore, offshore, refinery, petrochemical, and gas processing facilities.
  • Perform equipment layout, packaging, and integration studies.
  • Develop and maintain BOMs, product structures, and design documentation.
  • Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, process, and project engineering teams.
  • Support engineering change management and product lifecycle activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in Oil & Gas equipment design and knowledge of hazardous area requirements, including ATEX, NEC, IECEx, and related international standards. Work Experience
  • Mechanical Design and Product Development.
  • Oil & Gas Equipment Design.
  • Hazardous Area Classification Knowledge.
  • Experience with ATEX, NEC, IECEx, and related compliance requirements.
  • PTC Creo (Modeling, Assembly, and Detailing) or equivalent CAD software.
  • Engineering Drawings and GD&T.
  • BOM Management and Product Structure Management.
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Strong understanding of pressure-containing and industrial equipment.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving.
Preferred Skills
  • Windchill or Teamcenter PLM.
  • API Standards (API 610, API 617, API 618, API 614, API 670, etc.).
  • ASME Standards and Pressure Vessel Fundamentals.
  • Rotating Equipment Packaging.
  • Gas Compression Systems.
  • Skid Design and Modular Equipment Design.
  • FEA using ANSYS or similar tools.
  • Offshore Platform Equipment Design.
  • Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO).
Certifications (Preferred)
  • ATEX Awareness / Design Certification.
  • NEC Hazardous Location Certification.
  • IECEx Fundamentals.
