Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2–5 years of experience for Bengaluru. You will design parts and assemblies in Creo, create 2D drawings and BOMs, and drive engineering changes alongside production and quality teams.

You will ensure compliance with engineering standards and feasibility while maintaining thorough documentation and revisions in your PLM system, supporting audits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 2–5 years of experience in Mechanical Design.
• Strong 3D modeling and detail drawing skills with Creo.

Job Description

• Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using Creo.
• Prepare 2D drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation.
• Design and develop machine components, fixtures, sheet metal parts, and assemblies.
• Modify and improve existing designs based on production and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with the production, quality, and procurement teams for design implementation.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, manufacturing feasibility, and safety requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and support prototype development and testing.
• Maintain design records, revisions, and documentation systematically.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and ensure timely implementation in production
• Update and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) in ERP/PLM systems
• Verify part numbers, revisions, and change details before release
• Coordinate with design, production, quality, and planning teams for ECN closure
• Ensure proper version control and documentation of BOM and ECN records
• Analyze impact of changes on inventory, production, and customers
• Track ECN status and ensure effective communication to all stakeholders
• Support NPI by creating and validating BOM structures
• Avoid material mix-ups by ensuring correct revision control
• Maintain traceability of changes for audit and compliance requirements
• Support audits and ensure documentation readiness
• Drive continuous improvement in ECN and BOM management processes
