Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Limited in Vadodara, Gujarat, seeks an Electrical or Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Transformer Design to join our Global Engineering Center. You will work within an international design team and contribute to Oil Type Power Transformers up to 60 MVA 161 kV class, collaborating across sites to drive innovative energy transformation.

The role requires a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, 5–12 years’ experience in transformer design, knowledge of IEEE/IS

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering
• 5–12 years in electrical or mechanical design for power transformers
• Experience with IS/IEC/IEEE standards and Canadian standards
• Knowledge of transformer electrical design, thermal, dielectrics, short circuit and sound performance
• Proficiency in spoken & written English

Responsibilities

• Design electrical quotations meeting factory constraints, guidelines and IEEE standards
• Prepare customer and manufacturing documents, BOMs per schedule
• Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factories network
• Participate in internal design concept reviews
• Collaborate with global technical teams to align requirements
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and Hitachi values

How you’ll make an impact

The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Oil Type Power Transformer up to 60 MVA 161 kV Class design covering different countries.

Influence specification at the tender and pre-tender stage, through conceptual discussions.

Responsible to prepare electrical design (Quotation) meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE standards as per project schedule.

Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing documents, Bill of materials etc. as per project schedule.

Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.

Participation in internal design concept reviews.

Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.

Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background

Your background B.E / B. Tech Electrical Engineering.

5-12 years’ experience working in Electrical or Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry.

Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.

Understanding of Transformer Electrical Design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics.

Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards.

Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.

Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.

Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
