Job summary

Chelliah Suresh is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to create 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. The role focuses on fixtures, tooling, assemblies, and detailed drawings for manufacturing.

You will collaborate with production, quality, and fabrication teams, prepare BOMs, and support prototypes, trials, and customer site visits. Strong knowledge of GD&T, drawings interpretation, and material selection is essential.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
• Design jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauges, and machine components.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, and specs.
• Understand customer requirements, RFQs, and technical drawings.
• Perform basic design calculations and select suitable materials/components.
• Coordinate with production, machining, fabrication, and quality teams.
• Modify designs based on manufacturing requirements and customer feedback.
• Prepare BOM, part drawings, assembly drawings, and revision details.
• Support prototype development, trial, inspection and implementation.
• Visit customer sites when required for measurement, installation or technical support.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for manufacturing.
