Job summary

Tonbo Imaging India Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru seeks a senior mechanical design engineer to lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept to production. You will design precision electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies with tight tolerances and rugged enclosures ensuring IP65/IP67/IP68 ingress protection and EMI shielding.

Qualifications

• Lead the complete mechanical product development lifecycle from concept through production.
• Design precision electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies with tight tolerances.
• Ensure manufacturability and assembly with processes like CNC, casting, MIM, sheet metal, injection molding, and additive manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and engineering simulations to validate designs.
• Drive DFM/DFA with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize quality and costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings, BOMs, assembly procedures, inspection criteria, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support prototype builds, environmental qualification, reliability testing, and production ramp-up.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and design standards.
• Familiarity with MILSTD-810, IEC, or equivalent environmental qualification standards.

Roles and Responsibilites

Leadthecompletemechanicalproductdevelopmentlifecyclefromconcept throughproduction.

Designprecisionelectro-mechanicalandopto-mechanicalassemblies, includingalignmentmechanisms,sensormounts,andmovingassemblies requiringtightdimensionalandgeometrictolerances. Designruggedizedenclosureswithhighingressprotection(IP65/IP67/IP68), environmentalsealing,EMI/EMCshielding,thermalmanagement,andvibration resistance. Developdesignsoptimizedformanufacturabilityandassemblyusingprocesses suchasCNCmachining,casting,MetalInjectionMolding(MIM),sheetmetal fabrication,plasticinjectionmolding,andadditivemanufacturing. Selectappropriatematerials,components,andsurfacetreatmentsbasedon mechanical,thermal,environmental,andcostrequirements. Performtolerancestack-upanalysis,GD&T,andengineeringsimulations (structural,thermal,andvibration)tovalidatedesigns.

DriveDFM/DFAactivitiesbyworkingcloselywithsuppliersandmanufacturing teamstooptimizequality,cost,andproductionyield. Troubleshootdesign,manufacturing,andfieldissuesusingstructuredrootcause analysisandimplementcorrectiveactions. Prepareengineeringdrawings,BOMs,assemblyprocedures,inspectioncriteria, productionfixtures,andothermanufacturingdocumentation. Supportprototypebuilds,environmentalqualification,reliabilitytesting, engineeringchangemanagement,andproductionramp-up.
