Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for Mechanical BOP System Engineering focusing on the Water steam cycle, pumps and bypass valves. You will work on Balance of Plant projects in Thermal Power and Combined Cycle plants, handling P&ID, sizing calculations, and technical specifications.

You should bring 8+ years in system engineering and detail engineering, with coordination across vendor, procurement, and process teams to ensure quality, cost control, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in System Engineering and Detail Engineering from BOP projects.
• Experience with P&ID, sizing calculations, and technical/order specs (Level 1 & 2).
• Tender analysis and procurement-related activities for PO placement.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering design and development with various engineering calculations and analyses.
• Document results rigorously and implement design decisions into the product.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Vendor Management, Procurement, Process).

Job Requirements

• Should have 8+ years of hands-on experience in both System Engineering and Bought-Out Engineering and Detail Engineering experience from Balance of Plant (BOP) systems Projects of Thermal Power Plant and Combined Cycle Power plants.
• Should Have experience in understanding of each BOP systems and also hands on experience in these deliverables Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), System Design Documents – Sizing Calculation, Technical/Order Specifications (Level 1 & Level 2), Technical Tender Analysis (TTA) including Order request for Procurement.
• The scope of the team is execution of all mechanical equipment in the Water steam cycle and extended BOP like:
• Feedwater, condensate and Main cooling water pumps,
• Bypass and drum Level control valves, De-superheaters,
• Evacuation equipment, Closed cooling water and Main cooling water

equipment.

With possibility of supporting also the ROP Mech team with Fuel Gas, Air & Water Systems.

• Should have excellent Coordination skills with all Cross-Functional Teams such as Vendor Management, Procurement Support and Process Team etc.
• Execute engineering design and development consisting of a variety of engineering calculations and analyses, rigorous documentation of results, and implementation of design decisions into the product
• Should have experience in preparation of Ordering Specification/ drive supplier technical discussions for selection of supplier for PO placement
• Equipment Post order drawings / documents Review & Approvals and Transmitting to Client
• Execute activities for product development for WSC mech equipment. Partner with Systems and Controlled Title Holders to strike the right balance between program spend, product cost, performance, & reliability.
• Perform engineering which results in the highest quality product for GE customers, for assigned systems, sub-systems, and components, ensuring that critical requirements such as product cost, product technical performance, and project schedule are satisfied.
• Ensure accurate and timely definition and preparation of system functional and operational requirements, engineering drawings, and functional specifications. Be 100% accountable for quality and on time delivery of product / drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Engage and contribute to ongoing continuous product and process quality improvement
• initiatives, including improving maintainability, performance, compliance safety, cost, and reliability of designs through design practices, initiatives, and direct material productivity.
• Be a team player and be open for coaching and mentoring of more experienced team members.
• Provide weekly reporting of Mech BOP key process indicators and proactively communicate risk to TL.
• Site Coordination.
• Should have experience in Plant layout drawings reviews such as General Arrangement Drawing, Data Sheet & Technical Bid Evaluation
• Interface details with other Disciplines [Civil, Electrical &Instrumentation]
• PTS (Project Tool Suits), PPDM, Citrix Tool for L1/L2 Documents Release.
