The role collaborates with Product and Process Industrialization, defines standard work, leads capacity studies, and supports investments in equipment while driving continuous improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical, Production, Automotive, or Electrical engineering.
• Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cross-product factory processes per lean principles.
• Support production cost and standard time calculations and industrialize new specs.
• Coordinate with PPI to realize process changes and industrializations.
• Define standard machine operation sheets, work instructions, cycle times and capacity studies.
• Translate engineering strategy into actionable plans for the plant.
• Contribute to plant-wide planning including investments, capacity, and headcount.
• Drive continuous improvement using CBS methods and training.
• Interface with business analytics and sector functions to gather requirements.

Job Description

• design and implement overall (cross product) factory processes e.g. by definition of production concept, design of plant layout (e.g. factory, workplace) or factory simulation (e.g. manufacturing and logistics processes, ergonomics, etc.) according to lean principles and standards
• support production cost calculation and standard times calculation (e.g., by time studies) and industrializations of new product specifications
• Align with Product and Process Industrialization (PPI) to realize process changes and support on industrializations of new product specifications
• define standard machine operation sheet, work combination table and (standard work instruction), machine cycle times and capacity studies (basis for PPI to create further working and setup instructions, FMEA and creation of SAP routines, BOM)
• translate plant manufacturing engineering strategy into action plans and ensure implementation
• contribute to strategic and operative planning of the plant (e.g. with respect to investments, capacity and headcount planning)
• ensure the achievement of manufacturing engineering targets according to internal and external customer expectations
• initiate and control investments for production equipment (e.g. production machines, assembly equipment, automation technology, etc.), manufacturing engineering equipment (e.g. for software tools, equipment for machine installation/maintenance).
• initiate and implement continuous improvement activities by applying CBS methods and training measures
• interface to BA and sector functions in order to gather local manufacturing engineering requirements (e.g. ESH and ergonomics) and demands and other feedback
• participate in and/or steer global or local manufacturing engineering related and cross-functional projects
• conduct employee dialogues, personnel development and coaching
