Job summary

Continental India is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement cross‑product factory processes, create lean layouts, and drive efficiency in the plant. You will play a key role in translating strategic goals into practical actions on the shop floor and contribute to ongoing improvements.

The role partners with Product and Process Industrialization and requires 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with strong skills in AutoCAD and 3D design.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical, Production, Automotive or Electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement factory processes and lean layouts.
• Support cost calculations and industrialization of new product specs.
• Coordinate with Product and Process Industrialization (PPI) for process changes.
• Define standard machine operation sheets, work instructions, and capacity studies.
• Translate plant strategy into actionable plans and ensure execution.
• Contribute to planning of investments, capacity and headcount.

Job Description

• design and implement overall (cross product) factory processes e.g. by definition of production concept, design of plant layout (e.g. factory, workplace) or factory simulation (e.g. manufacturing and logistics processes, ergonomics, etc.) according to lean principles and standards
• support production cost calculation and standard times calculation (e.g., by time studies) and industrializations of new product specifications
• Align with Product and Process Industrialization (PPI) to realize process changes and support on industrializations of new product specifications
• define standard machine operation sheet, work combination table and (standard work instruction), machine cycle times and capacity studies (basis for PPI to create further working and setup instructions, FMEA and creation of SAP routines, BOM)
• translate plant manufacturing engineering strategy into action plans and ensure implementation
• contribute to strategic and operative planning of the plant (e.g. with respect to investments, capacity and headcount planning)
• ensure the achievement of manufacturing engineering targets according to internal and external customer expectations
• initiate and control investments for production equipment (e.g. production machines, assembly equipment, automation technology, etc.), manufacturing engineering equipment (e.g. for software tools, equipment for machine installation/maintenance).
• initiate and implement continuous improvement activities by applying CBS methods and training measures
• interface to BA and sector functions in order to gather local manufacturing engineering requirements (e.g. ESH and ergonomics) and demands and other feedback
• participate in and/or steer global or local manufacturing engineering related and cross-functional projects
• conduct employee dialogues, personnel development and coaching
