Job summary

DMart is seeking a data governance lead in Thane to own master data management initiatives and drive governance across the organization. You will collaborate with data teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to establish standards and best practices for high-quality data management.

You will oversee data quality programs, manage data-related projects, and align capabilities with Digital Transformation and Analytics goals, while ensuring timely, accurate data entry and strong governance

Responsibilities

• Lead for managing master data records within SAP and other systems.
• Ensure data entry adheres to required format, is error-free and timely.
• Define protocols and standards for data governance with the data team.
• Establish and implement data management capabilities aligned with business goals.
• Create metrics to measure data quality and monitor solutions.
• Understand transactional systems and data management landscape from source to analytics.
• Manage relationships with software vendors and MSPs supporting MDM initiatives.
• Contribute to roadmaps for Data/Information Management and governance policies.
• Define and own data management principles and policies.
• Leverage business needs to standardize processes and improve employee engagement.
• Identify risks and drive continuous improvements through innovation.

• 1. Demonstrable working experience in related data discipline
• 2. Deep understanding of master data management, data governance, and associated technologies
• 3. Proven experience in establishing and operationalizing data management capabilities
• 4. Strong analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to translate ideas into practical implementation
• 5. Ability to manage stakeholder relationships including team members, vendors and partners

Responsibilities

• 1. Primary lead for managing master data records within SAP
• 2. Ensure that all data entry takes place in required format, error free and on time
• 3. Responsible for Data Governance and work in conjunction with data team to define protocols and standards for maintaining data
• 4. Establish and implement (master) data management capabilities and best practices aligned with the business, Digital Transformation and Data & Analytics goals and priorities
• 5. Establish consistent metrics to measure quality of data and implemented solutions
• 6. Understand the technology landscape of transactional systems, data management and master data layer, to analytics and consuming applications
• 7. Lead and own the relationship with software vendor(s) and Managed Service Providers supporting MDM initiatives
• 8. Contribute to roadmaps for Data / Information Management
• 9. Define and own relevant data management principles and policies
• 10. Leverage the business to understand the data needs, data dependencies and identify opportunities for business process standardization, ensuring high employee engagement and managing staff career progression
• 11. Identify risks and drive continuous improvements in data management through technological innovation, operational improvement, and championing adoption
• 12. Maintain in-depth industry knowledge regarding best practices and technology advancements
