Job summary

BU Consultants in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist with 4 years of hands-on experience to govern and maintain enterprise master data across domains.

You will define and monitor MDM processes, perform data profiling and cleansing, resolve data quality issues, and collaborate with IT and business teams on migration and integration projects. Strong SQL and experience with MDM tools are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist with 4 years of experience in managing, governing, and maintaining enterprise master data. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of data quality, data governance, data integration, and MDM processes, with the ability to work closely with business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain master data across domains such as Customer, Product, Vendor, Material, and Supplier.
• Define, implement, and monitor MDM processes, standards, policies, and data governance practices.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, standardization, and enrichment activities.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues, duplicates, inconsistencies, and data integrity problems.
• Develop and maintain data quality rules, validation checks, and controls.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand master data requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Support data migration, data consolidation, and integration initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT, business, analytics, and data governance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of master data.
• Monitor data quality KPIs and prepare regular reports and dashboards.
• Support root-cause analysis and resolution of recurring master data issues.
• Maintain documentation related to data definitions, business rules, workflows, and governance processes.
• Participate in MDM implementation, enhancement, and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with organizational data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, or a related data management role.
• Strong understanding of MDM concepts, data governance frameworks, and data quality principles.
• Experience working with one or more master data domains such as Customer, Product, Vendor, Supplier, or Material.
• Hands-on experience with data cleansing, validation, profiling, and standardization.
• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with data integration concepts and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with MDM tools/platforms such as SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, Reltio, IBM InfoSphere MDM, or similar platforms.
• Ability to create functional requirements, data mappings, business rules, and process documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP, ERP, CRM, or enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Experience with data visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.Knowledge of cloud data platforms and modern data architecture.
• Experience participating in large-scale data migration or MDM implementation projects.
