Job summary

Vitality Healthcare in India seeks a Consultant/Senior Consultant - Internal Medicine (MD Physician) to evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, manage IPD/OPD services, and lead emergency resuscitation and critical care.

The role requires MBBS with MD in General Medicine or DNB in General Medicine, registration with State Medical Council/NMC, and 0–5+ years post-MD/DNB (freshers welcome).

Qualifications

• Active registration with State Medical Council / National Medical Commission (NMC).

Responsibilities

• Clinical & Patient Care: Conduct OPD consultations, review histories, examine patients, and formulate diagnoses.
• Emergency & ICU Management: Manage medical emergencies, triage patients, and oversee ICU admissions.
• Diagnostic & Treatment Planning: Order and interpret tests; prescribe evidence-based therapies.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Refer to Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, etc. as needed.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain medical records and ensure ethical compliance.
• Academics & Training: Mentor and supervise junior doctors and residents.

Job Summary

Responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Provides comprehensive non-surgical medical care, manages inpatient (IPD) and outpatient (OPD) services, and leads emergency resuscitation and critical care management.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical & Patient Care: Conduct OPD consultations, assess medical histories, perform physical examinations, and form accurate clinical diagnoses. Manage IPD admissions, daily rounds, and treatment protocols.
• Emergency & ICU Management: Handle medical emergencies, triage critically ill patients, manage ICU admissions, and stabilize acute cases (e.g., sepsis, respiratory distress, cardiac emergencies).
• Diagnostic & Treatment Planning: Advise, order, and interpret diagnostic tests (lab work, imaging, ECGs). Prescribe evidence-based pharmacotherapy and treatment plans.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Refer patients to surgical or super-specialty departments (Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, etc.) when specialized intervention is required.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate electronic/paper medical records, discharge summaries, and legal/ethical compliance standard operating procedures.
• Academics & Training: Supervise and mentor junior doctors, DNB/MD residents, and clinical staff.
