Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Internal Medicine Consultant to provide comprehensive medical care for adult patients. The consultant will diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, supervise junior medical staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with various medical conditions.
- Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, asthma, and cardiac conditions.
- Conduct detailed patient assessments including medical history and physical examinations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient medical care.
- Handle emergency medical situations when required.
- Coordinate care with specialists, surgeons, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Supervise residents, junior doctors, and medical interns.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and CME activities.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Follow hospital protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Visit peripheral centres, Health Camps, school / village evaluations and learning centre
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Internal Medicine.
- Valid medical council registration/license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Critical care and emergency management experience.
- Knowledge of evidence-based medicine and clinical protocols.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Research and publication experience is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Hospital/clinic-based role.
- Rotational shifts, on-call duties, and emergency coverage may be required.
- Interaction with patients, families, and healthcare staff daily.
