Role: Consultant General Medicine
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Consultant General Medicine to provide comprehensive medical care, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. The consultant will be responsible for OPD, IPD, emergency support, patient management, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- - Conduct detailed consultations, clinical examinations, and medical assessments of patients.
- - Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- - Provide comprehensive OPD and IPD patient care.
- - Monitor admitted patients and review their clinical progress regularly.
- - Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings and investigations.
- - Interpret laboratory and diagnostic reports and correlate findings clinically.
- - Manage medical emergencies and provide timely clinical intervention.
- - Coordinate with specialists, surgeons, nursing staff, and other departments for multidisciplinary patient care.
- - Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records, case sheets, and treatment plans.
- - Counsel patients and their attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and preventive care.
- - Ensure adherence to hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.
- - Participate in clinical discussions, rounds, and departmental activities.
- - Maintain professional ethics and ensure high standards of patient care.Role & responsibilities
Preferred candidate profile
- - Qualification: MD in General Medicine.
- - Candidates with relevant experience as a Consultant/Senior Resident in General Medicine will be preferred.
- - Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient-management skills.
- - Good knowledge of managing both acute and chronic medical conditions.
- - Experience in handling medical emergencies and critically ill patients is preferred.
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- - Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- - Patient-centric approach with strong clinical decision‑making abilities.
- - Candidates with experience in a hospital/tertiary-care setup will be preferred.
- - Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council is mandatory.
