Job summary

Mtar Technologies is seeking a Material Planning Manager to oversee end-to-end material planning, inventory control, and centralized yard operations across five manufacturing units. You will ensure the right material, grade and quantity are available on time to support production, while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.

The role requires strong knowledge of metallic raw materials (SS, MS, Titanium, and alloys) and their standards, plus experience with ERP/MRP systems to monitor usage

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Material Planning / Materials Management
• Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Precision Engineering or Manufacturing is preferred
• Strong knowledge of material standards (ASTM, ASME, AMS, EN, DIN, UNS)

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end material planning and availability for production across 5 manufacturing units
• Manage centralized raw material yard: receipt, storage, inventory, allocation and movement
• Ensure timely availability per production plans and BOM/MRP requirements
• Maintain material identification, heat/lot traceability and MTC documentation
• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, shortages, excess and slow-moving materials
• Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchase, Quality and Stores
• Plan inter-unit material transfers and ensure timely replenishment
• Monitor material consumption and inventory accuracy via ERP/MRP
• Develop material availability, shortage and inventory MIS for management

Material Planning Manager

Role Purpose

The Material Planning Manager will be responsible for end-to-end material planning, inventory management, and centralized material yard operations supporting production across five manufacturing units.

The role will ensure the right material, right grade, right quantity, and right time availability to production, while maintaining optimum inventory levels and minimizing material shortages, excess inventory, and production disruptions.

The position requires strong technical knowledge of metallic raw materials such as Stainless Steel (SS), Mild Steel (MS), Titanium and other engineering alloys, including their grades, specifications, standards, and material certification requirements.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end material planning and availability for production across 5 manufacturing units.
• Manage the centralized raw material yard, including receipt, storage, inventory, allocation and movement to respective units.
• Ensure timely availability of materials as per production plans and BOM/MRP requirements.
• Strong knowledge of raw materials such as SS, MS, Titanium, Alloy Steel and other engineering materials, including different grades, specifications and standards.
• Ensure material identification, heat/lot traceability and MTC documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy / Supply Chain or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Material Planning / Materials Management / Inventory / Centralized Stores.
• Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Precision Engineering or Manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, ASME, AMS, EN, DIN, UNS and other applicable material standards.
• Strong team management, analytical and coordination skills

The ideal candidate should be a materials/supply-chain professional with strong technical understanding of metals and engineering materials, rather than a conventional stores manager.

The person should be capable of managing a centralized raw-material yard and ensuring uninterrupted material supply to five manufacturing units, while simultaneously controlling inventory, material traceability, procurement requirements and production risks.
