Job summary

Berger Paints in Howrah, West Bengal, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to oversee planning and execution of raw and packaging material purchases. You will coordinate with production, release purchase orders, and ensure timely deliveries.

The role also includes managing Oracle ERP-based PR to PO cycles, monitoring stock levels, and driving cost control while ensuring regulatory compliance and proper documentation. Strong analytical skills and experience in FMCG are valued.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma with MBA in supply chain/operations/materials management.
• Experience in procurement and materials management, preferably in paint/chemical/FMCG.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

1. Procurement Planning & Execution:

• Plan and execute purchases of raw materials, packaging materials in coordination with production departments.
• Release purchase orders and ensure timely delivery as per production requirements.

2. Oracle ERP System Management:

• Manage procurement processes through Oracle ERP including PR to PO cycle, GRN generation, vendor master updates, and stock tracking.
• Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and re-order points through ERP dashboards.

3. Inventory & Warehouse Oversight:

• Monitor raw material and packaging inventory levels to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
• Coordinate with stores and logistics for material receipt, storage, and dispatch management.

4. Cost Control & Budgeting:

• Implement cost reduction strategies in procurement and logistics.
• Align purchasing plans with the annual budget, track variances, and recommend corrective actions.

5. Regulatory & Quality Compliance:

• Ensure materials meet required specifications and regulatory standards (chemical regulations, safety norms).
• Coordinate with QA/QC for material approval and documentation compliance.

6. Reporting & Analytics:

• Prepare MIS reports on material consumption, vendor performance, cost trends, and aging inventory.
• Support audits (internal/external) with relevant purchase and inventory records.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or B. Sc + MBA in Supply Chain / Operations / Materials Management
• Experience in procurement and materials management, preferably in paint/chemical/FMCG industry
