Job summary

Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy is seeking a Master Mariner NCV / Resident Nautical Officer to join our team in India. The role involves teaching and administrative duties in line with DGS instructions for the Resident Nautical Officer designation.

The position offers multiple engagement types: permanent full-time, contractual, or visiting faculty with respective monthly or hourly compensation. Candidates should hold an Indian or UK flag CoC, an undergraduate degree, and relevant cadetship

Qualifications

• Master Mariner NCV with Indian or UK CoC is required.
• Experience in teaching and administration preferred.
• Age under 65; priority for those over 55 with sea service.

Responsibilities

• Teach and administer as per DGS instructions and Resident Nautical Officer designation.
• Adhere to Higher Education directives and GoI guidelines.
• Manage MTI facilities and student activities, ensuring safety and compliance.

Job Description

Job Role and Responsibilityas per instructions of DGS for "Resident Nautical Officer" designation as applicable for Master Mariner NCV for Presea MTIs. Involves teaching and administration responsibilities. Customary practices of Higher Education Organisations and directives of Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Human Resource Department and GoI apply.

Three Types of Roles and Payment (Payment varies with Role)

1. Permanent Full time - Minimum 2 Years in Employment Contract - Rs. 1,00,000 / Month onwards


2. Contractual Engagement - Minimum Duration: 6 months contract - Rs. 80,000 / Month onwards


3. Visiting Faculty - Minimum 15 Days - Rs. 1000/ Hour onwards

• For professional from long distance areas, weekly holiday and other leaves can be clubbed and availed together as 7 days a month. Flight ticket expenses borne by college once every two months for trip home towards availing two months holiday simultaneously.

Job Requirement
