Job summary

The Corporate Institute in Delhi/NCR is seeking a seasoned Head of Finance & Accounts to lead end-to-end finance, MIS, P&L reporting, credit control, treasury and compliance. This role requires strategic and hands-on leadership in a services-oriented, internationally exposed environment.

The incumbent will drive standardization, strengthen internal controls, and mentor the finance team to deliver accurate financial insights and robust governance across geographies.

Qualifications

• MBA in Finance or CA qualification.
• 13–15 years of progressive finance experience, with 4–5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in a services business and international operations preferred.
• Hands-on experience across MIS, P&L reporting, credit control, treasury, and taxation/compliance.

Job Description :

The Head of Finance & Accounts will lead the finance function of the organisation, taking end-to-end ownership of MIS, P&L reporting, credit control, treasury, taxation and compliance, and the overall supervision of the finance and accounts team. The role requires a seasoned finance professional who can combine strong technical and reporting rigour with commercial judgement, and who is comfortable operating in a services-led, internationally exposed business environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, prepare and continuously improve the monthly/quarterly MIS framework covering financial and operational performance.
• Ensure timely, accurate dashboards and reports for leadership, highlighting key trends, variances and risks.
• Drive data integrity across systems and standardise MIS formats across business units/geographies.
• Own preparation of the consolidated Profit & Loss statement and related management reports.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets/forecasts and provide commentary to leadership on business drivers.
• Partner with business heads on cost management, margin improvement and profitability analysis.
• Establish and monitor credit control policies, customer credit limits and collection processes.
• Track receivables ageing, minimise DSO, and drive timely resolution of overdue accounts.
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to balance business growth with credit risk.
• Manage cash flow planning, working capital and banking relationships.
• Oversee fund management, investment of surplus funds, and management of borrowings/credit facilities.
• Monitor forex exposure (where applicable) and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
• Lead, mentor and manage the finance and accounts team, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end/year-end closing, and general ledger integrity.
• Build and strengthen internal controls, SOPs and process discipline across the finance function.
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with direct and indirect tax laws (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.).
• Manage tax assessments, audits and liaison with statutory/tax authorities and external consultants.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and corporate governance requirements, including coordination with auditors.

Selection Criteria :

• MBA in Finance from a recognised institute, or a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• 13-15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounts, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership/head-of-function role.
• Prior experience working in a services business is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of, or direct exposure to, international business operations (cross-border transactions, multi-entity/multi-currency reporting, or global client servicing).
• Hands-on experience across MIS, P&L reporting, credit control, treasury, and taxation/compliance.
• Proven track record of leading and developing a finance and accounts team.

Functional Skills :

• Strong command of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Sound knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
• Working knowledge of treasury operations, banking and working capital management.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel; exposure to MIS/BI tools is an advantage.
