EXL is seeking an experienced and results-driven Marketing Analyst to join our analytics team in Gurugram. As a Marketing Analyst, you will be responsible for end-to-end analytics project delivery, working closely with internal teams and external clients. You will lead analytics initiatives within the banking and financial services domain, particularly focused on marketing analytics, campaign optimisation, and customer insights. This role requires strong technical expertise, client-facing confidence, and the ability to manage projects independently while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage analytics projects with a focus on banking and financial services clients.
• Apply marketing analytics expertise to design, execute, measure, and optimise marketing campaigns.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined analytical problem statements and solution approaches.
• Use Python extensively for data analysis, model development, feature engineering, and insight generation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Engage directly with clients to understand business needs, present analytical findings, and recommend data-backed solutions.
• Own project delivery including timelines, scope, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within expectations.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to clearly communicate insights to senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing technical direction and best practices in analytics methodologies.
• Incorporate client feedback to continuously improve analytical approaches and outputs.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging analytics techniques, and best practices in marketing and banking analytics.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or Engineering.
• Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in analytics.
• Around 2 years of hands-on experience in banking analytics and/or marketing analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and model development.
• Proven ability to solve complex business problems using structured analytical thinking.
• Demonstrated experience in client management, including presenting insights to senior stakeholders.
• Solid project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

• End-to-end marketing analytics experience including customer targeting, campaign execution, performance measurement, and optimisation.
• Strong expertise in exploratory data analysis (EDA), feature engineering, pivots, and data summarisation.
• Good understanding of statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing, t-tests, chi-square tests, A/B testing, and regression analysis.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning concepts.
• Sound understanding of banking and financial services, including customer behaviour and marketing use cases.
• Experience with PySpark is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
