Job summary

JobItUs in Gurugram (India) seeks a senior Production/Factory Head to drive end-to-end manufacturing operations for LT/MV/HT panels and switchyard equipment. You will lead planning, procurement coordination, quality control and documentation to meet strict schedules and customer specifications.

The role requires 15+ years in electrical panel manufacturing, strong SAP/ERP skills, and proven leadership across large production teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 15+ years of progressive experience in electrical panel / switchgear manufacturing, including senior production/factory management role.
• Working proficiency in English and Hindi.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize production schedules aligned with business and customer demand.
• Plan manpower, machinery/equipment and materials to manufacture products within schedule.
• Drive MRP; identify shortages and coordinate procurement with Purchasing.
• Monitor stock and inventory; liaise with Stores to review and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure production processes adhere to quality norms and ISO standards.
• Establish testing, inspection and QC procedures for LT, MV & HT panels and distribution boards.
• Oversee in-house testing, erection, testing and commissioning support for switchyard equipment.
• Maintain and improve productivity through cost-reduction and process improvements.
• Identify bottlenecks, downtime and wastage on the shop floor.
• Lead, mentor and coordinate cross-functional teams of engineers, supervisors and mechanics.
• Build a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and finalize production schedules in line with business and customer order demand.
• Plan manpower, machinery/equipment and materials required to manufacture different products within the committed schedule. Materials & Inventory Management
• Drive Material Requirement Planning (MRP); identify shortages and coordinate timely procurement with the Purchase department.
• Monitor stock and inventory levels; liaise with the Stores department to review documentation and resolve discrepancies. Quality & Process Control
• Ensure all production processes strictly adhere to quality norms and applicable ISO standards.
• Establish and implement testing, inspection and quality-control procedures for LT, MV & HT panels (PCC, MCC, Control & Relay, PLC, VCB/SF6, VFD panels) and distribution boards.
• Oversee in-house testing, erection, testing & commissioning support for switchyard equipment such as isolators, surge arrestors, current/potential transformers, circuit breakers, insulators, and MV/LV cables and relays, as applicable.
• Maintain and continuously improve productivity through cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.
• Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks, downtime and wastage on the shop floor. Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor and coordinate cross-functional teams of engineers, supervisors and mechanics.
• Build a culture of accountability, discipline, safety and continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.

Project & Order Execution

• Manage execution of project-based manufacturing orders as per agreed schedules and customer specifications.

Customer & Stakeholder Interface

• Coordinate with customers during factory/product inspections and promptly resolve issues raised during inspection or audit.

Documentation, Compliance & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation relating to production and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety and quality regulations applicable to the manufacturing unit.
• Use ERP/SAP systems for production planning, inventory and reporting; provide periodic MIS reports on production, quality and productivity to management.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong working knowledge of LT, MV & HT panel manufacturing, testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on exposure to switchyard equipment (33kV/66kV/132kV) erection, testing and commissioning.
• Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems.
• Strong Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and inventory-management skills.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing large production teams.
• Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
