Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead turbine assembly operations at Hazira. The role requires deep expertise in HP/IP/LP turbine assemblies, drawings interpretation, and hands-on problem solving to drive quality and on-time delivery.

The candidate will coordinate with Design, Quality, and Projects teams, lead supervisors and technicians, and uphold safety standards in a heavy manufacturing environment. BE degree required with 12–15 years of experience.

Qualifications

• BE with engineering specialization.
• Proven experience in turbine assembly environments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, tolerances, and engineering specs.

Responsibilities

• In-depth knowledge of turbine assembly processes (HP/IP/LP turbines, rotors, casings, diaphragms).
• Interpret assembly drawings, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Familiarity with precision tools: dial gauges, micrometers, laser alignment, torque tools.
• Understand critical/shrink/interference fits, mandrel handling in turbine assembly.
• Know hydraulic tightening, torqueing and bolt tensioning procedures.
• Awareness of heating, cooling, oil flushing, rotor balancing, barring gear trials.
• Safety practices for heavy components and crane operations.
• Knowledge of welding, NDT, and turbine assembly quality standards.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of assembly issues and dimensional deviations.
• Digitalization and Lean manufacturing.
• Leadership to guide supervisors and technicians.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Projects).
• Problem-solving and decision-making under time and cost constraints.
• Accountability for milestones, quality, and safety.
• Root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate updates clearly.
