Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a candidate to execute fabrication planning for aircraft electrical wire harnesses and assist in creating work instructions for installation in panels and assemblies. The role covers process validation, tooling familiarity, and development of installation and testing plans across CAPP/MES/Teamcenter environments.

The ideal candidate will contribute to safety, FOD prevention, and continuous improvement through audits and producibility studies, with hands-on shop-floor wiring

Responsibilities

• Author build plan/fabrication process for aircraft electrical wire harnesses.
• Assist in developing work instructions for installing wire harnesses and components in panels and other assemblies.
• Develop efficient process sequence by analyzing and validating processes, standards and specifications related to fabrication of wire harnesses and panels (cutting, sorting, color-coding, labelling, kitting, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, routing wires and related materials).
• Working knowledge of tools and equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, soldering iron, wire identification/cutting machines, heat guns, and associated tools.
• Create Installation plan in CAPP/MES/Teamcenter.
• Create testing and inspection plans for wire harnesses, panels, and aircraft electrical systems for continuity and proper functioning.
• Execute the process audits for the prevailing Installation/fabrication plans and ensure they meet the defined standards.
• Assist in implementing safety procedures, FOD prevention and non-conformance issues with wire harness manufacturing.
• Identify production inefficiencies and suggest potential improvements to product or process.
• Assist in carrying out DFM and producibility studies of wire harness and electrical/electronic products. Prepare reports.
• Liaise with in-region suppliers to address quality issues and process improvements.
• Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
• Assist in developing and modifying work instructions for installing wire harnesses and components in panels and other assemblies. Participate in decomposing process specifications and coordinating review with BAC spec SME/Custodians. Provide feedback on driving standards engineering requirements and manufacturing operations. Preferred: Hands-on shop-floor wiring experience with electrical harnesses, cable assemblies
