Process Engineering is responsible for leading a group of engineers to ensure first-time-right First Article (FA) builds, development of manufacturing processes, and readiness of tools, equipment, and documentation for serial production. This role ensures strong coordination with Production, Quality, SCM, and Product Engineering for smooth manufacturing execution.
Educational Qualification / Experience Required
- Graduate degree in Engineering (EEE / ECE / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering)
- 2 to 8 years of experience in wiring harness or aerospace manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of process engineering, industrial engineering, and FA build methodology
- Experience with tools, equipment, FMEA, WI/SOP creation, and SAP/ERPt

Indicative Activities
1. First Article Build Leadership
- Lead FA builds ensuring adherence to customer documentation and standards.
- Guide engineers in documenting PCR and capturing learnings for production readiness.
- Review workmanship, tooling needs, and process capability during FA activities.
2. Process Creation & Documentation
- Review process flows, FMEA, control plans, WI/SOPs created by the team.
- Ensure completeness of Manufacturing Data Package (MDP).
- Approve tooling, crimping, soldering, special processes, foam board requirements.
3. Process Improvements
- Identify areas to reduce rework, scrap, and cycle time.
- Lead Kaizen initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Product Engineering, SCM, Production & Quality during NPI and serial production.
- Support BD/NRE estimation whenever required.
5. Production Support
- Resolve process issues quickly with proper RCA and corrective actions.
- Monitor day-to-day production adherence to processes.
- Support customer complaint investigations and implement improvements.
6. ERP & System Management
- Oversee accurate updates of PCR, BOM-level process data, and routing information in SAP.
7. People Management
- Allocate tasks, review work, and develop engineers.
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure skill development.
- Maintain team morale, discipline, and safety standards.
