Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Project Delivery
- Provide strategic safety leadership and guide clients in improving safety performance across renewable energy projects.
- Advise on the design and implementation of safety initiatives, culture programmes, and EHS management systems.
- Support compliance with local and international safety standards, including the Factories Act, OSHA, ISO 45001, IFC Performance Standards, and FPE requirements.
- Manage project scoping, budgeting, resource planning, and timely delivery in line with client expectations and ERM quality standards.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build strong, long-term client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on safety and risk management.
- Convert complex safety and technical issues into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated EHS solutions with safety as a core focus.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Mentor and coach junior consultants to strengthen technical knowledge, safety capability, and client-facing skills.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance within project teams.
- Lead internal knowledge-sharing activities to build thought leadership in occupational safety and health.
- For Principal Consultant roles, lead large multidisciplinary teams across geographies and contribute to organisation-wide thought leadership.
Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify and develop opportunities for safety consulting services across sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, chemicals, and energy.
- Support key account planning, proposal writing, and client pitch presentations with a strong safety-focused value proposition.
- Represent ERM in industry forums, webinars, and client events as a subject matter expert in occupational safety and risk management.
- For Principal Consultant roles, lead strategic growth initiatives and secure high-value consulting opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, IOSH, or equivalent are mandatory.
- Global credentials such as CSP, CMIOSH, or similar certifications are strongly preferred.
- 12–15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
- Experience with IFC, World Bank, and EHS guidelines, including work with international lending institutions.
- Strong experience across construction and operations of transmission lines, wind energy projects, and solar installations.
- Solid engineering foundation with hands-on experience in project execution, operational excellence, and risk management for large-scale renewable projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage clients, lead project teams, and deliver high-quality consulting outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
