Purpose/Objective
Site Head (Mega) is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, performance, and financial management of a large-scale solar, wind & hybrid energy site (300+ MW). This role ensures that the plant consistently meets operational targets and regulatory requirements while optimizing energy output, managing safety and environmental compliance, and enhancing team capabilities. Leading a dedicated site team, the Site Head drives continuous improvement through technology adoption, process optimization, and proactive issue resolution, ensuring the site’s sustainable performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities of Role
- Financial Management and Reporting: Monitor monthly budget performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective measures to align with financial objectives.
- Manage OPEX, CAPEX, and procurement within budgetary constraints, ensuring cost optimization and effective resource allocation.
- Ensure accurate SAP utilization for scheduling preventive maintenance, and closure of breakdown notifications within set timelines.
- Perform daily analysis of operational interruptions, implementing RCA and CAPA processes to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime.
- Operational Excellence and Compliance: Achieve key performance metrics, including Performance Ratio (PR), Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), Plant Availability (PA), and Grid Availability (GA), and deliver periodic analysis reports.
- Ensure all audit observations are addressed with zero recurrence; oversee timely closure of points related to IMS, MAAS, and statutory compliance.
- Manage site inventory within prescribed levels, implementing VED, FSN, and ABC analysis to optimize stock and reduce excess.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, calibration, and testing schedules, ensuring asset performance and longevity.
- People Development and Management: Execute timely recruitment for vacant positions, targeting a 45-day closing timeline and managing attrition effectively.
- Achieve training mandates, fostering skill advancement and readiness for 20% of the team to take on elevated responsibilities.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with local authorities and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and compliance.
- Safety and Environmental Health: Ensure a zero-incident environment through daily safety talks, pre-checks, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement corrective actions based on safety audits and foster a proactive culture of risk mitigation and environmental responsibility.
- Enforce site-wide compliance with health and safety standards, focusing on proactive hazard identification and mitigation.
- Business Processes and Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and continuously refine business processes aligned with strategic objectives to enhance site efficiency.
- Oversee site-level planning, inventory management, and procurement to support uninterrupted operations.
- Drive ESG initiatives, embedding sustainability practices and Business Excellence processes throughout the site.
- Technology and Innovation: Lead the integration of technology platforms such as BAX and Google IC, ensuring optimal use for operational efficiency.
- Ensure SCADA system functionality and resolve any communication issues to maintain real-time monitoring and control.
- Key Operational Targets: Regularly monitor and report on KPIs, recognizing achievements and identifying areas for operational improvement.
- Coordinate VIP site visits and special events, ensuring smooth execution and optimal site presentation.
- Material and Asset Management: Oversee asset maintenance projects, adhering to quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
- Ensure timely calibration and testing of equipment, manage scrap disposal, and enforce compliance with storage and preservation protocols.
