Job summary

Delhivery in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee manpower planning, shift rostering, and shop floor management. You will ensure adherence to SOPs and 5S, monitor loading/unloading workflows, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for on-time deliveries.

The role requires driving metrics across inbound, outbound, floor operations, quality, and first mile, while mentoring staff and pursuing continuous process improvements using Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma

Qualifications

• Experience in floor management in logistics or manufacturing.
• Strong adherence to SOPs and 5S.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage manpower planning and shift rostering aligned with load projections and targets.
• Ensure SOP compliance, 5S, and facility upkeep; monitor vehicle connections and loading/unloading.
• Plan ad-hoc vehicle requirements and coordinate with fleet as needed.
• Maintain service levels and monitor performance metrics.
• Facilitate coordination with commercial, security, fleet, and last mile teams.
• Drive inbound, outbound, floor, quality and first-mile metrics.
• Handle HR/KRAs like diversity hiring, morale, and safety on the floor.
• Mentor team members and build capability.
• Identify and implement process improvements; drive Kaizen/Six Sigma initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

• Manages the manpower planning & shift rostering as per the load projections and productivity targets.
• Compliance to the SOPs, facility 5S and overall upkeep of the facilities. Monitoring vehicle connections, availability and ensuring timely unloading/loading of vehicles. (metrics)
• Plan ad-hoc vehicle requirements based on load profile and coordinate with fleet.
• Maintaining the service levels and ensuring the performance metrics.
• Facilitate communication and coordination with different teams (such as commercial, security, fleet, last mile).
• Driving the metrics in their respective functions (inbound operations, outbound operations, floor operations, quality metrics, first mile metrics).
• HR/Employee related KRAs Diversity Hiring, Maintaining Employee Morale, Employee safety on the floor
• Mentors and works toward capability building of the team members
• Continuously explores process improvement opportunities and drives them to closure
• Implement industry best practices of shop floor management - Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma etc.
