Job summary

Essar Group in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Vendor Manager for FMCG procurement and sourcing across distribution centers. You will optimize costs, manage supplier relationships, and ensure uninterrupted material availability.

Key focus areas include vendor onboarding, PO management, GRN and invoice verification, as well as data-driven cost savings and process improvements across Supply Chain, Finance and Operations teams. 5–8 years in FMCG procurement preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial) or MBA from a Tier-1/Tier-2 institute.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain functions within FMCG, Food, or Manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, vendor management, inventory planning, and supply chain operations.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, ERP systems, and procurement analytics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors, priorities, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and timely material availability.
  • Identify, onboard, manage, and negotiate with vendors to build strong supplier partnerships.
  • Manage Purchase Orders (POs), procurement documentation, contracts, and approvals.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal stock availability.
  • Oversee GRN processes, invoice verification, and vendor payment coordination with Finance teams.
  • Analyze procurement and inventory data to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
  • Generate procurement reports, track supplier performance, and drive compliance with procurement policies.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Inventory, and Category teams to ensure smooth procurement execution.

Role Overview

The FMCG Vendor Manager will be responsible for managing sourcing, procurement, and vendor relationships for FMCG products and raw materials to ensure uninterrupted supply across all DC locations. The role focuses on cost optimization, supplier management, inventory efficiency, timely vendor payments, and process improvements to support business growth and operational excellence.
