Job description

  • Lead and manage a diverse team consisting of over 8 officers and more than 100 personnel in the tractor assembly unit, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Design, implement, and optimise manufacturing systems and technologies that deliver a competitive edge within the market, ensuring continuous improvement in operational excellence.
  • Develop and drive initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs without compromising on product quality or workforce safety.
  • Oversee the introduction and adoption of new product process technologies, continuously enhancing plant productivity through close monitoring and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Champion Lean Production System principles by organising training, facilitating workshops, and integrating lean methodologies into daily operations for waste reduction and workflow optimisation.
  • Coordinate and manage both internal and statutory audits to ensure compliance with legal, industry, and company standards at all times.
  • Manage Quality Assurance processes rigorously, ensuring that established quality objectives are consistently met or exceeded, while actively developing and executing action plans to address customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Deploy and promote industry best practices, utilising advanced manufacturing tools and techniques such as poke-yoke, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Kaizen, and others to boost operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and processes.
  • Drive a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous learning within the assembly line, ensuring adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and fostering an engaging workplace.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Technology degree specialising in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent Diploma with a strong technical foundation. Additional certifications or training in manufacturing process management, quality control standards such as ISO 9000, or Lean Six Sigma methodologies will be highly advantageous.

Critical Experience

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in leading teams within tractor assembly or comparable sectors, with a track record of executing large-scale operational improvements that enhance productivity and product quality.

Expertise in deploying industry best practices and methodologies such as poke-yoke, Kaizen, and TPM to increase manufacturing efficiency and reliability is required. Candidates must also have strong knowledge of quality management systems including ISO 9000, TS 16949, and occupational safety standards such as OHSAS 18001.

Experience in managing quality assurance processes and customer complaint resolution in a timely and effective manner is essential. The ability to lead performance improvement initiatives, audit management, and process optimisation in a high-volume manufacturing environment will distinguish the ideal candidate.
