Job summary

Vodafone Idea Limited, in Davanagere, is seeking a TM BSS O&M professional (M1) to ensure high network availability and manage field-level operations across BSS/Node-B sites. The role requires hands-on work with GSM/EDGE systems, NSN/Huawei radio and microwave gear, and strong problem-solving in 2G/3G environments.

Work includes deployment, integration, testing, and commissioning of base stations, coordination with vendors and teams, and adherence to budgets and processes.

Qualifications

• Well-versed knowledge in GSM/EDGE, with testing experience.
• Installation, commissioning, integration and troubleshooting of NSN/Huawei Radio and Microwave equipment.
• Expertise in 2G and 3G Node-B Operation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting.
• Expertise in GSM protocol stack, call flow and O&M of RNC, BSC, BTS and MW.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 99.95% Network Availability.
• Carry out site/BSC/RNC field activities per operations process and tools.
• Check and control site Opex within budget limits.
• Maintain transmission media details to rectify call drops/disturbances.
• Perform preventive maintenance and outage handling.
• Coordinate with infra partners for equipment upkeep.
• Coordinate installation and various operations activities for BTS & MW sites.
• Supervise and test configuration and commissioning of new base stations.
• Handle GSM works requiring immediate actions during process buildup.
• Clear VSWR alarms by checking RSSI & VSWR values.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

• To work on maintaining the 99.95% Network Availability
• To carry outcell site/BSC/RNC site field level operational activitiesin strict compliance with the VIL operations process and manging the tools prescribed.
• To check and maintain the site level Opex and make control on same as per the budget
• Maintaining transmission media details to rectify any call drop/disturbance
• On time Preventive Maintenance and Outage handling process
• Coordination with infra partners on maintaining the upkeep of the infra equipment so as to ensure the upkeep of active equipment
• Integration & Commissioning of BTS & M/W sites including external alarms.
• Coordination with Vendor & Team for site installation & various activities of operations
• Responsible for supervising and acceptance test configuration and commissioning of new base station sites.
• Handling all types of GSM works that need immediate actions while the process builds up.
• VSWR alarm clearance by checking RSSI & VSWR values using VSWR meter.
• Coordinate with technical support personnel, support vendors and equipment suppliers
