AP Management Consultants in Gurgaon seeks a Manager Tensile Fabrics (Structural Design) to lead membrane structure design efforts. You will oversee technical design, simulations, detailing, and construction coordination to meet client needs and safety standards.

The role requires B.Tech/B.E. with strong background in tensile fabric structures, materials science, and FEA-based optimization, with end-to-end project leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in structural designing.
• Knowledge of forms and typologies in membrane construction, special forms, form finding of membrane structures.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics and material science, particularly related to tensile fabrics.

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

1. Development of New Structural Designs to Support Business

• Create and develop structural designs for tensile membrane fabric structures, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry/safety standards.
• Use tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze and optimize designs for load-bearing capacity, including wind and snow loads.
• Create 3D renderings of the proposed design.
• Perform modelling and pre-construction analysis.
• Create detailing and patterning for the proposed membrane for the project.
• Prepare AutoCAD 2D and 3D technical drawings and SketchUp 3D models.

2. Ensure Material Selection Aligns with Durability, Flexibility, Safety, and Environmental Standards

• Select appropriate materials for the membrane and supporting structures,considering factors such as durability, flexibility, safety, and environmental impact.

3. Perform Precise Simulations to Identify Stress Points and Ensure Stability Under Diverse Environmental Conditions

• Estimate maximum fabric stresses under critical load cases, including prestress and environmental loads.
• Optimize designs for load-bearing capacity, including wind and snow loads.
• Calculate edge cable or clamping loads to ensure structural integrity.
• Work with EASY software for structural analysis.
• Conduct wind and snow analysis on tensile structures.

4. Supervise the Building Process, Ensuring It Aligns with Design Specifications and Meets All Safety Requirements

• Collaborate with fabricators (internal/external) and installers to ensure the design is accurately translated into the final product.
• Supervise the fabrication, construction, and installation process to ensure the structure is erected with the required pretension and meets safety standards.

5. Providing Technical Expertise Based on Customer Needs

• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure a deep understanding of client needs and deliver expert technical advice throughout each phase of the project.

6. Lead All Phases of the Project

• Create schedules, handle submittals and approvals, maintain comprehensive communication logs and reports, and manage budget, costs, and logistics.
• Guide the project through all critical phases to create structures as per customer requirements.
