Job summary

Piramal Pharma Solutions is seeking a Manager - Technical Services to provide process engineering support, scale-up, technology transfer, and process development for PDS/MMBB operations. You will partner with QA, Production, QC, R&D and EHS to ensure timely start-up of trial and validation batches and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years of experience in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing, with hands-on scale-up from lab to plant and proven ability to prepare

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology.
• Postgraduate qualification in Chemical Engineering / Process Engineering is a plus.
• 10–15 years of experience in process engineering, development, or technology transfer in pharma/chemical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide Technical Services & Development support including lab-to-plant scale-up and process safety studies.
• Drive process engineering development, solvent recovery, effluent minimization, and cost optimization.
• Lead projects and support new facility development including P&IDs review and equipment selection.

Manager - Technical Services

Job Description

Provide technical service and process engineering support to internal customers, with responsibility for process development, scale-up, technology transfer, and technical support for PDS/MMBB operations. The role will also support new facility creation and drive process improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Service & Development (TSD)

• Prepare effective RFPs by providing technical inputs covering product fitment, batch planning, solvent management, effluent management, CAPEX, OPEX, change controls, and other relevant technical requirements.
• Lead the scale-up of new products from laboratory scale to plant scale, including lab demonstrations, process safety studies, technical evaluations, and coordination with QA, Production, QC, R&D, EHS, Engineering, Projects, and other stakeholders to ensure timely start-up and successful execution of trial and validation batches for PDS/MMBB.
• Facility Bottleneck identification and Troubleshoot

Process Engineering & Development

• Identify and drive process development initiatives for PDS/MMBB products, including solvent recovery improvement, effluent minimization, yield improvement, process optimization, and capacity evaluation.
• Implement and monitor process development initiatives to improve process efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Drive and support Operational Excellence initiatives within the respective areas
• Facility Bottleneck identification and Troubleshoot, OOS & OOT and incident investigation support CFT.

Projects & New Facility Development

• Develop and review P&IDs in coordination with the Projects team for new facility creation and process modifications.
• Provide technical inputs and support to the Projects team for facility design, process requirements, equipment selection, and other project‑related activities as required.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology.
• Postgraduate qualification in Chemical Engineering / Process Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in process engineering, process development, technical services, scale‑up, or technology transfer in the pharmaceutical / chemical manufacturing industry.
• Hands‑on experience in process scale‑up from laboratory to plant scale, process optimization, and execution of trial/validation batches.
• Experience in preparing technical documents, RFPs, P&IDs, process safety studies, CAPEX/OPEX inputs, and supporting new facility/project activities.
