Job summary

Kalinga Commercial Corporation Limited seeks a senior civil engineer to lead and manage civil construction and project execution for crushing, screening and material handling plants. You will ensure timely completion of foundations, structures and related infrastructure essential for crushing, conveying, stacking, reclaiming and wagon loading systems.

The role requires B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering with 8–15 years of relevant experience in civil construction, preferably in industrial plants

• Experience in civil construction of industrial plants is essential.

• Lead civil construction and project execution for crushing and material handling plant projects.

• Review and approve civil, structural, foundation and plant layout drawings and ensure execution as per designs.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Automation, Structural, Projects and Operations teams for timely readiness.
• Monitor excavation, PCC, RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, grouting, finishing works, and quality control.

Job description

To lead and manage the overall civil construction and project execution activities for crushing, screening and material handling plants, ensuring timely completion of foundations, structures and associated infrastructure required for crushing, conveying, stacking, reclaiming and wagon loading systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall civil construction and project execution of crushing and material handling plant projects.
• Plan, monitor and control civil works including equipment foundations, RCC structures, buildings, conveyor galleries, transfer towers, platforms, roads and drainage systems.
• Oversee construction of foundations for crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, hoppers, bins, stackers/reclaimers and wagon loading systems.
• Review and approve, as applicable, civil, structural, foundation and plant layout drawings and ensure execution as per approved designs and specifications.
• Ensure accurate positioning of anchor bolts, embedded plates, inserts and foundation bolts in coordination with Mechanical and Structural teams.
• Lead coordination with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Automation, Structural, Projects and Operations teams for timely readiness of civil works.
• Monitor excavation, PCC, RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, grouting, structural and finishing works.
• Ensure proper levels, dimensions, elevations, alignment and quality of equipment foundations.
• Manage contractors, consultants, vendors, manpower and site resources for efficient project execution.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedule, BOQ, budget and milestones, and take corrective action for delays.
• Ensure quality control of cement, steel, aggregates, concrete and other construction materials, including testing and inspection.
• Resolve technical and construction issues affecting mechanical erection, equipment installation and commissioning.
• Oversee civil modification, rectification and additional works arising during plant erection and commissioning.
• Monitor measurement records, quantity reconciliation, contractor bills and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, statutory requirements and approved construction practices.
• Drive timely closure of civil punch points and snag items and ensure complete civil readiness for plant commissioning and handover.
• Lead and mentor the civil project team and ensure effective manpower and resource utilization.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, critical issues, cost, schedule and construction readiness.
• knowledge of fabrication & erection of structure.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering
• 8-15 years of relevant experience in civil construction and project execution.
• Strong experience in industrial plants, mineral processing or heavy engineering projects.
• Hands-on experience in crushing plants and bulk material handling projects is highly preferred.
• Strong exposure to civil works associated with crushers, screens, conveyors, transfer towers, stackers/reclaimers and wagon loading systems.
• Experience in equipment foundations, RCC structures, contractor management, project planning and commissioning support.
• Strong leadership, technical coordination, problem-solving and project management skills.
