Job summary

Amp Energy India is looking for a senior On-site QA/QC Engineer to lead quality assurance on solar projects. You will ensure strict adherence to Project & Field Quality Plans, perform inspections of erection methods and electrical equipment, and drive timely NCR closure and documentation.

The role requires 10–15 years of on-site QA/QC experience in the solar industry, strong report writing skills, and a solid grasp of ISO 9001:2015 QMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality management with 10–15 years on-site QA/QC experience, preferably in solar.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS and related QA practices.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% implementation of Project & Field Quality Plans and procedures at site.
• Inspect erection methodology and testing for electrical equipment per approved methods.
• Conduct site audits and inspections of materials/equipment for quality conformance.

Job description

Job Responsibility:

• Ensure 100% implementation of the Project & Field Quality Plans, Quality Control Plans and Procedures at Site
• Cary out inspection for erection methodology and testing for all electrical equipment and ensures construction activity at the site are as per approved Method Statement and Field Quality (FQP)
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of project sites, materials, and equipment to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• To ensure the erection, testing and commissioning of all electrical equipment as per approved FQP or OEM installation and testing guidelines. Setting civil testing QA lab at site and arrangement of any equipment, if necessary.
• Quality checking of site work, performing inspection of the Project material / Components.
• Issuing NC to service contractors, suppliers for defects, quality lapses and internal NC to when there is a violation in process.
• Ensures Timely submission of Weekly Quality Report (WQR), Construction Book, Non-conformity report (NCR), Project Quality Register (PQR).
• Resolution of quality-related problems at the site with the concurrence of client, if any.
• Testing of all substation equipment viz., Transformer, PT, CT, Lightning arresters, Circuit breaker, Isolators at site and Manufacturers place (if required).
• Maintaining the proper record of quality documents for every activity such as calibration certificates, Field quality plan, (FQP) and checklists submitted by EPC for acceptance of work.
• Preparation of project quality reports and punch list with appropriate mitigation techniques to get the compliance report from EPC for smooth handover of the project.
• Taking care of QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered and other QA/QC documents. Responsible for closure of Non-conformance, NCR and Site Instruction.
• Monitor and evaluate performance metrics related to quality, identifying trends and implementing strategies to improve overall quality levels.
• Quality Trainings to Site team and maintain the records for its effectiveness.
• Co-ordination between site quality engineers and projects team for smooth implementation of QMS.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management or a related field with minimum 10-15 Years of experience in On Site Quality Assurance and Control, preferably in the solar industry.
• Good communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports within the predefined deadline.
• Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS and STAAD Pro awareness will be an extra advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential quality issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Well Versed with Microsoft Office suite and other relevant quality control software.
