Role Overview

We are seeking a highly competent QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management for our Solar EPC projects across Gujarat and nearby regions. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all project quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental norms while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is responsible for developing and implementing QHSE policies, conducting audits, coordinating with site teams, managing documentation, and ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of solar projects.

Key Roles And Responsibilities
  • Quality Management
    • Develop, implement, and supervise QA/QC procedures for all solar EPC activities including civil works, MMS installation, module mounting, DC/AC cabling, and commissioning.
    • Oversee material inspection processes and ensure compliance with approved specifications and technical standards.
    • Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, WIRs, and NCRs.
    • Conduct internal quality audits and ensure timely closure of deviations and punch points.
    • Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection logs, test reports, and project quality records.
  • Health & Safety Management
    • Establish and enforce strong safety policies, procedures, and site-specific HSE plans for all project locations.
    • Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
    • Lead incident/accident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are effectively implemented.
    • Monitor compliance to PPE standards, permit-to-work systems, and safe operating procedures.
    • Train site teams on workplace safety practices, emergency response, and OHS regulations.
  • Environmental Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to environmental norms, pollution control guidelines, and statutory requirements for solar project sites.
    • Monitor waste disposal, resource usage, emissions, noise, and environmental hazards.
    • Implement environmental management plans and drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
    • Coordinate with state regulatory bodies for environmental inspections and compliance submissions.
  • Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure all project activities comply with local, state, and national regulations such as Electrical Safety Standards, Factories Act, Pollution Control Board (PCB) requirements, Labor laws and welfare regulations, ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
    • Maintain site compliance documents, certifications, licenses, and audit records.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure QHSE integration in all activities.
    • Support procurement in vendor qualification, quality inspections, and supplier audits.
    • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and third-party auditors during audits and inspections.
    • Ensure timely communication of QHSE issues, risks, and improvements to management and project stakeholders.
  • Training, Awareness & Skill Development
    • Develop and conduct QHSE training programs for staff, contractors, and site workers.
    • Ensure workforce competency in safety protocols, emergency readiness, and quality standards.
    • Promote a safety culture that encourages reporting of near-misses, unsafe conditions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain detailed records including QHSE reports, audit findings, incident logs, safety statistics, and quality documents.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QHSE MIS reports for management review.
    • Track KPIs related to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Implement Lean, 5S, and best-practice methods to improve site safety and quality performance.
    • Analyze QHSE trends, risks, and deficiencies to develop improvement strategies.
    • Conduct root-cause analyses and drive CAPA implementations across project sites.
Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or Science with specialization in QHSE; additional safety certifications preferred (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).

Strong knowledge: of solar EPC quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws.

Languages: English, Hindi; Gujarati preferred.
