Job summary

The Corporate Institute in Mumbai is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager in Finance to formulate and implement the financial strategy, monitor costs and cash flow across ongoing projects and new deals.

You will oversee budgeting, P&L management, consolidation, statutory audits, and align with IFC/IFRS, coordinating with CFOs, regional teams, and investors.

Manager/Senior Manager

Job location:

Key purpose of the job:

The position is responsible for formulating and implementing the financial strategy and reporting for the ongoing Projects and new deals. Tightly monitor and control costs and cash flow to ensure the Projects meet the financial objectives envisaged.

Cost Control and Monitoring:

• – Partner with other departments and coordinate with Corporate finance to facilitate the annual planning process ensuring organisation interests are kept in mind.
• – Provide financial and cost review based on actual / budgets / commitments with regional head of departments, to identify, measure and monitor actions to control cost and to improve profitability and liquidity situation.
• – Provide reports for regional management undertaking a comparative profitability study and providing project wise comparisons on productivity, costs etc.
• – Participate in Budget and Operational reviews as the brand/segment representative critically examining alignment of annual budgets vis a vis the brand/segment strategy.
• – Monitor project performance throughout implementation and provide periodic reports in this respect.
• – Monitor and track the status of working capital and undertake measures to optimise the same.

Business Plan, Business case analysis, financial review of contracts and agreement:

• – Coordinate with business team in developing finance budget AOP/AEP and monitoring progress.
• – Review of contracts / agreements from a financial perspective.
• – Work closely with Business Head in managing P&L and cash flow of the region in alignment with Corporate goal.

Planning and automation:

• – Evaluate peripheral systems from a financial perspective to ensure that correct processes are followed, and accounting / audit trail is possible.
• – Establish internal controls in the organisation through implementation of robust business processes and automation of financial processes at site.

Business Support:

• – Investor relations – work with Investor relations teams for providing information financial results where there is a JV partner.

Accounts and Audit:

• – Ensure maintenance of books of accounts as per rules, regulation and standards.
• – Managing consolidation of accounts.
• – Monitoring & scrutiny of Corporate Accounts.
• – Preparation of monthly financials for MIS and Quarterly Results for Audit/LR.
• – Completion of Statutory Audit within the timeline.
• – RERA reporting within timelines including CA certification.
• – Understand and adhere to the IFC framework relating to finance.
• – Liaison with internal audit function/ auditors.

Developmental:

• – Keep abreast with updates on regulatory and statutory changes and guidelines, specifically local regulations around real estate development.
• – Continuously update knowledge and keep abreast of changing trends and guidelines.

Internal & External Interactions:

Internal: CFO, Corporate Financial controller, Shared Services, Treasury, Functional Heads, Business Heads and Regional teams.

External: Investors, Consultants, Vendors.

Education & Experience Requirement:

• – CA Finance with relevant experience.
• – 3-8 years of post-qualification experience.
• – Prior experience in cost controlling & monitoring, Business case analysis, WCM and Financial Planning is required (prior real estate experience is an added advantage).
• – Good Analytical Skill, Cost Audit, Accounting Standards, INDAS, SAP.
