Job summary

CLSA Pune invites an experienced Settlement Specialist to oversee pre-match of trade details and ensure accurate settlement across markets. You will drive fails management and supervise end-to-end settlement processes in line with regulatory standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of US equities, DTC workflows, and market operations, with the ability to mentor juniors, handle teams, and adapt to Asia/EU/US shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate with at least 5 years of experience in securities, banking or related industry.
• Experience leading a team for at least 2 years.
• Strong knowledge of US equities, DTC workflow and market operations; knowledge of European/Asian equities and fixed income is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with senior management.
• Willing to work Asia/EU/US shifts as required.
• Multitasking ability to manage priorities effectively.
• Capable of building rapport with management, offices, brokers and clients.
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn and take on challenges.
• Proactive in pursuing growth opportunities and risk management in projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all trade details are pre-matched prior to settlement, minimizing the risk of discrepancies.
• Implement and adhere to fails management system to promptly address and resolve discrepancies encountered during settlement.
• Supervise the entire settlements process to ensure timely and precise execution, adhering to regulatory and compliance standards.
• Conduct thorough reconciliations to validate the integrity of financial records, swiftly identifying and addressing discrepancies.
• Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency enhancements in settlement processes to streamline operations and lower costs.
• Manage the Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) collateral processes to ensure proper handling and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the conversion processes for ADR and GDR to ensure timely execution and compliance.
• Participate in project initiatives and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure systems and processes align with business requirements.

• Manage the Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) collateral processes to ensure proper handling and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Efficiently manage the conversion processes for American Depositary Receipts (ADR) and Global Depositary Receipts (GDR), ensuring timely execution and compliance
• Actively participate in project initiatives and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that new systems, processes, and tools align with business requirements and enhance operational effectiveness

Requirements

• Graduate with at least 5 years of experience in the securities, banking, or a related industry
• Should have team handling experience for at-least 2 years
• Strong knowledge of US Equities, DTC workflow, 235 market operations including relevant practices and trends. Knowledge of European, Asian equity and fixed income products will be an added advantage.

• Candidate should be open to work in Asia / EU / US shifts depending on work requirement.
