Qualifications

Job description

As Manager - Supply Chain Planning & Control (SCPC) within the Buying department at Mahindra & Mahandra Ltd's Farm Division, you will take charge of the strategic planning and procurement of components across four major platforms including LTV, MHCV, U202, and W201, handling approximately 800 to 1000 parts per platform. Your role is critical in coordinating with a diverse supplier base both locally and globally to ensure the timely availability of materials that meet quality and cost standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals to optimize materials flow and cost efficiency.
  • Leading material cost benchmarking initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain competitive pricing.
  • Partnering with suppliers to enhance supplier performance, foster innovation, and mitigate risks associated with supply disruptions.
  • Implementing robust inventory management practices aimed at reducing carrying costs while ensuring uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Driving positioning and market introduction of new agricultural equipment, adapting to dynamic market conditions and competitive landscapes.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with logistics, production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to streamline supply chain processes and achieve operational excellence.
  • Championing digitization and analytics projects within the supply chain to leverage data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of procurement professionals across multiple hubs and plants, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational foundation in engineering to support the technical aspects of procurement and supply chain management. The preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines that provide a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material science.
  • Educational credentials from accredited institutions that reflect the candidate's ability to apply engineering principles to optimize procurement and supply chain efficiencies.
  • Additional certifications or training in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Strategy, or Project Management are considered advantageous and may support career growth within Mahindra & Mahindra.

General Experience

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in supply chain management, sourcing, materials management, and operations. Key experience requirements include:
