Job summary

A leading retail company in Bangalore is seeking a Project Accountant Team Lead to develop a team of Project Accountants and ensure accurate project records. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in project accounting and financial controls, and previous experience in people management is preferred. This role includes regular communication with finance teams and resolving end-of-period issues. Opportunities exist for performance bonuses and a flexible hybrid working model.

  • Strong understanding of Project accounting & Fixed Asset processes and practices.
  • Expert in Financial controls and quality tools.
  • People management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a team of Project Accountants.
  • Ensure project records are compliant with Asset Management policies.
  • Resolve Period End issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate regularly with team and partners.
  • Support capitalisation for construction in progress items and ensure asset records pass to Fixed Assets.

About the role

Developing a team of Project Accountants to ensure project records are built in line with the Asset Management, Capital and Projects Policy and asset information standards. Ensuring that Period End close is complete, accurate and aligned to communicated timetables. Resolving identified Period End issues in a timely manner. Ensuring Service Level Agreements, critical metrics and controls are met. Communicating regularly & optimally with team and wider partner group. Collaborating with other teams to ensure effective and efficient operational delivery. Ensuring compliance with Risk & Control Framework relating to Projects. Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence. Developing and leading an impactful team, giving them the opportunities to be their best. Where the process is not working, recommend workarounds and work with GPO to establish a robust process to cover operational and financial risk. Work with Finance System support and resolve all system issues and escalate for support where required. Work with PMs to ensure timely capitalisation is done for all construction in progress items. Ensure right asset records are passed on to Fixed Assets and work closely with A2R team to resolve differences.

You will need

Required: Strong understanding of Project accounting & Fixed Asset processes and practices. Expert in Financial controls and quality tools.

Salary
