Job summary

DP World Mumbai is seeking a Name Manager – Procurement, operational supplies to manage indirect and operational procurement activities, end-to-end PRs in Oracle, and to align with the SCO Procurement department.

The role requires coordinating with end-user teams to clarify specifications, developing new suppliers, benchmarking markets, negotiating with vendors, and driving cost optimization while ensuring timely delivery and compliant processes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree from a reputed university.
  • 7+ years' experience in indirect and operational supply procurement.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and working with Oracle Fusion/ERP and e-sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement for day-to-day operational supplies like branding, gifting items, safety items, consumables.
  • Coordinate with end-user teams to ensure clarity of specifications and expectations.
  • Develop new suppliers for specialized and one-time requirements using existing supplier databases.
  • Devise market benchmarking and long-term market knowledge strategies for services.
  • Manage end-to-end PRs within Oracle and ensure timely release and closure with compliance.
  • Drive cost optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors and ensure project implementation and follow-ups.
  • Negotiate with external vendors for advantageous terms and finalize purchase details.
  • Ensure digitally signed invoices for all POs and track open contracts/PRs.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners and act as a business enabler.

Position reports to Senior Director, Technology and operational supplies – SCO Procurement

Roles & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Procurement activities for day to day operational supplies like branding, gifting items, safety items, consumables etc.
  • Coordination with end user teams to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations. This is a key step to ensure maximum clarity is derived whilst obtaining a clear scope on the requirements and supporting Business.
  • New Supplier developments for specialized and one time business requirements. This will require to enhance and utilize existing supplier database to ensure quality suppliers.
  • Work closely for devising long term strategy for market knowledge development & devise market benchmarking in the services area.
  • Manage end to end procurement requests (PR’s) within Oracle and ensure timely release and closure of such requests whilst following compliance.
  • Drive Cost optimization & Efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Coordination with Vendor – End to End follow-ups and coordination until project is finally implemented.
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms, finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries. Communicate recommendations.
  • Ensure suppliers submit digitally signed invoices towards all the purchase orders placed. Closure and tracking of open contracts, PR’s and PO’s would be of key essence.
  • Close collaboration with business partners.
  • Be a business enabler with market knowledge, best practices and resolving pain points of business as “Partner”
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Graduate / Postgraduate from reputed university
  • At least 7 years' experience in indirect and operational supply procurement
  • Should have hands on experience in negotiating with suppliers
  • Oracle fusion /ERP and e sourcing working experience desired
  • Able to build, influence and maintain effective and productive relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers
  • Task oriented and ability to understand new trends in market and implement in D P World through Procurement efforts and alignment.
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage emergency
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
  • Decision making ability and excellent analytical skills with proactive approach
