Job summary

Henkel India is seeking a seasoned Process Safety Lead to drive PSM initiatives at the Kurkumbh site in Maharashtra. You will coordinate risk assessments, lead hazard analyses and embed a strong process safety culture across operations, engineering, maintenance, and projects.

The role requires 8+ years in process safety, with 1–2 years in plant/site leadership, and strong expertise in HAZOP, PHA and LOPA. CCPS certification is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of industry experience in process safety with 1–2 years leading a plant/site.
  • Strong expertise in HAZOP, PHA and LOPA and ability to lead for the site.
  • CCPS process safety certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Safety Management activities across Kurkumbh site.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and hazard analyses (HAZOP/PHA/LOPA).
  • Drive mitigation plans with operations and engineering teams.
  • Develop and improve site-specific process safety procedures.
  • Manage Process Safety KPI reporting and trend analysis.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Lead MoC processes and ensure safety in project design and execution.
  • Conduct process safety audits and training to strengthen culture.

About this Position

In this role, you will be responsible for driving Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives, facilitating risk assessments, ensuring compliance with global and local safety standards, and embedding a strong process safety culture across multiple manufacturing plants. Working closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and project teams, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating process risks while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

What You´ll Do
  • Lead Process Safety Management activities across manufacturing plants at the Kurkumbh site.
  • Facilitate and conduct process hazard analyses including HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, FMEA, and other risk assessment studies.
  • Identify high-risk processes and drive mitigation plans through collaboration with operations, engineering, and project teams.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-specific process safety systems and procedures.
  • Manage Process Safety KPI reporting, trend analysis, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Drive Management of Change (MoC) processes and ensure process safety considerations are integrated into project design and execution.
  • Lead process safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Coach, train, and influence site teams to strengthen process safety awareness and culture.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and Henkel Process Safety requirements.
What makes you a good fit
  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience, with the last 1-2 years in leading a plant/site for process safety.
  • Must have strong skills in HAZOP, PHA, LOPA - and be capable of leading the same for the site.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence, train and coach the teams including shopfloor teams
  • Advanced certifications like CCPS Process safety professional certification is highly desirable.
  • Preferred industries - Specialty chemicals, Oil and Gas.
